Arsenal interested in signing Wilfried Zaha, double swap deal offered

Wilfried Zaha

Arsenal could reportedly be prepared to offer the likes of Carl Jenkinson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in a proposed deal to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha in the summer.

The Ivory Coast international has impressed for the Eagles over the course of the season, but his form in the second-half, in particular, has attracted interest from several English clubs.

Arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest in Zaha for a while, but according to The Sun, the Gunners could look to beat them with a double swap offer on the cards.

Both Jenkinson and Oxlade-Chamberlain are approaching the final year of their contracts in the summer, and it is suggested that the north London club would be willing to offer the pair in order to lower the final price of Zaha.

Zaha, who is currently valued at around £30m, is likely to snub a proposed extension at Selhurst Park with the prospect of plying his trade in Europe ahead of next season.

Jenkinson has played no part for the Gunners over the past six months, and he could be shipped out to Palace after his failed move to south London last winter.

On the other hand, The Ox has been the standout performer for the FA Cup finalists in recent weeks, but the club will nevertheless consider his sale, should he turn down a fresh long-term deal in the summer.

The Sun also suggests that the Gunners could make a straight cash offer for the highly-rated attacker if they fail to find a suitable agreement with regards to a part-exchange deal.

Zaha has contributed six goals and nine assists for Crystal Palace who are still lingering above the drop zone due to their recent losing streak in the Premier League.
