Arsenal expected to bid for Serbian prodigy Andrija Zivkovic

Andrija Zivkovic has rapidly been making a name for himself on the Domestic and International level and has reportedly been heavily scouted by Arsenal for the past season.

After trying to buy the young player in 2016, the club failed in its attempts, with the player eventually moving from Partizan to SL Benfica on a free transfer.

After joining the team and slowly becoming a regular starter, he scored one goal and grabbed 11 assists in 24 appearances last season and has 3 goals and 6 assists in 29 appearances this season.

Reports have been coming in that the youngster has a £52.5m release clause written into his contract and many close to him have concerns that Arsenal will not want to spend such a large sum on a very young player. In contrast to this, SportWitness reports that Arsenal will almost certainly be making a bid for the player when the transfer window opens.

The 21-year-old plays as a winger and is known for his startling bursts of pace down the right combined with a natural talent for getting past defenders and playing dangerous balls into the box.

At his first club, Partizan, the young Serbian became their youngest ever captain at the age of 17. On the international level, he broke another record for being the youngest ever Serbian to represent the country at the senior level, also at 17.

As a young player, it may be hard for Zivkovic to break into the Arsenal squad, especially considering the already bolstered attack with new signings of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, but already showing his potential, he may be a future star for the club.

The young prospect is familiar to premier league interest and over the past seasons has been scouted by both Manchester United and Liverpool.

This deal will depend a lot on who Arsenal’s new manager is and whether they will be happy to spend a very large chunk of their budget on a risky but exciting young player.
