Arsenal close to another signing after agreeing personal terms with £90,000-a-week attacker

Lemar

Arsenal have reportedly finalised personal terms with the representatives of Thomas Lemar ahead of his potential move to the Emirates this summer.

The France international has highlighted his intention to join the north London giants following a top campaign with AS Monaco last term.

Lemar, 21, bagged nine goals and ten assists in the Ligue 1 last season as the Principality club ended their 17-year wait for the French title.

The former Caen man was initially seen as a central midfielder, but his transformation into the left-wing spot has helped him gain recognition with the France national team.

According to The Sun, personal terms have been agreed between Arsenal and the player’s representatives, but the Gunners still have a difficult to negotiate a transfer fee with Monaco.

Monaco have snubbed two bids of £30m and £40m from the FA Cup holders, and they are apparently holding for at least £80 on a player, who cost them just £4m from Caen two years ago.

Lemar stands the chance to earn around £90,000 a week from his move to north London, and he is willing to sacrifice Champions League football in order to push through a deal this summer.

Arsenal are also looking into a potential move for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez but they find themselves in a similar position with the Foxes placing a £50m price tag on the Algerian’s head.

Monaco have already lost Bernardo Silva to Manchester City earlier in the mix, and this has urged them to play hardball over negotiations with Tiemoue Bakayoko also on the cusp of a switch to Chelsea.
