Arsenal agree massive kit deal with Adidas

Arsenal have signed a massive kit agreement with Adidas which takes effect after next season, according to media reports.

In recent months, the news has been rife in the British media that Arsenal were negotiating a deal with the German Sportswear manufacturer as their current agreement with Puma was set to expire at the end of next season.

The deal appears to have reached a conclusion after former Gunners striker confirmed on Twitter that Adidas will sponsor the North London club from the start of next season.

He said: “So pleased Adidas are back sponsoring after this coming season️. Especially after seeing what Puma have come up with.”

As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the deal but it is expected to be a massive £30m increase from the one offered by Puma presently.

Unofficial reports place the yearly figure at £60m and if reports are to be believed, this will signal the intention of the Gunner’s board to raise revenues to match the yearly figures raked in by rival Manchester Clubs and London rivals, Chelsea.

In modern times, the prices of quality players have risen to stratospheric levels and only clubs with the financial muscle can attract the best talents. Arsenal have long struggled to spend big on the best players but this has changed in the past few seasons after the conclusion of their deal with Emirates.

With fresh funds from this deal as well as other sources, the Gunners are better prepared to spend big in this window and future windows to come. Failure to compete for the best players due to financial constraints is an excuse Arsenal fans will not tolerate come next season and on the evidence of news coming from transfer sources, the board seems to have learned from their mistakes.

Let’s hope the funds are spent wisely on players of good quality. At this juncture, Unai Emery needs all the backing required to make Arsenal the Pride of London once again.
