£30m January bid will be launched by Arsenal, as player told ‘he will never play again’

Arsenal are apparently deemed favourites to sign long-term target and are expected to put in a make £30m bid in January, according reports in the Express.

The German international has fallen out with Wolves’ hierarchy and is destined to leave the Volkswagen Arena in the New Year.

Draxler, 23, has been long linked with a switch to the Emirates with manager Arsene Wenger pursuing the player since his time with Schalke 04.

According to a report from TalkSPORT (via Bild), the World Cup winner was told that ‘he will never play for the club again’ after he was recently booed by the club’s faithful for his comments made in the German press.

The former Schalke graduate was expected to part ways with Wolfsburg over the summer with Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus being among the key contenders.

However, Wolfsburg had other thoughts in mind and were rather content on keeping hold of their player, who was fined a week’s wages for trying to push through a transfer.

Draxler has since endured a barren spell in the Bundesliga, and this has eventually urged to pursue a new challenge where he would have the support of both the club and the fans.

Arsene Wenger’s side were deemed to have failed with a £43m bid for Draxler earlier in the year, but it is reported that they could get him at a lesser sum of £30m in January. The reports in the Express further claim that a January bid for the midfielder is on the horizon.

The Gunners do have the likes of Alex Iwobi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and on occasions, Alexis Sanchez to fill the left wing role, but the prospect of adding a top-class recruit is something they shouldn’t ignore, if they are to end their Premier League drought.

Draxler, who is contracted to Wolfsburg until 2020, has earned 27 caps for his national team since making debut against Switzerland four years ago.
