Arsenal could find themselves in a tricky position this summer with Manchester United deemed to be tracking Alexis Sanchez, The Express reports.

The Chile international has been in contract talks with the Gunners since the backend of last season, and it now appears that he has placed a non-negotiable £250,000-a-week demand if he is to extend his deal.

Sanchez’s existing £130,000-a-week contract is due to expire in the summer of 2018, and the north London find themselves in a situation where they could be tempted to sell to a European rival.

The former Barcelona man is currently on the radar of both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, but according to The Express, Manchester United will have one eye on the attacker’s situation at the Emirates.

United have kept Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann as their priority target for the summer, but their hopes appear to be fading with the Frenchman stating that he has no reason to leave Atleti in the near future.

Jose Mourinho is keen to add a versatile forward to his ranks during the off-season, and it is reported that Sanchez is among the players on his summer shortlist.

Arsene Wenger has previously seen the club lose the likes of Ashley Cole, Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie to rival clubs, who have gone on to lift the title, and this will be in the mind of the Frenchman or whoever else is in charge beyond the campaign.

Sanchez has netted 21 goals and 14 assists for the Gunners this term, and his performance between now and the end of the season could be key to the club’s hopes of clinching a top-four position which guarantees a Champions League spot.

Arsenal are also through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup via their 5-0 win over fifth-tier Lincoln City, but they still face a tough ride with Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City all in the running for the famous old trophy.
